The Legend of the Shadowlands In the late 1800 hundreds a native Choctaw Indian whose real name is lost in history, was a farmer and shaman to his shrinking tribe. He had great love for his family, his tribe and his land, the land of his ancestors, where they lived, died, and was buried. He made his living trading with the local town’s people.
One early fall after trading at the local market a band of drifters followed the shaman home with intentions on robbing him and much, much worse. The shaman was a peaceful man and told the robbers take what you want but please don’t hurt my family.
The leader of this gang was a sadistic cruel man and had his men beat the shaman till almost dead. They murdered his family in front of him while he lay on the ground, helpless…or so it seemed.
It is said at that moment of his death the shaman called upon the spirit of the shadow cat and became The Shadowmaster, controlling the fears of those on his sacred land.
The gang members went mad with fear seeing each other as monsters and demons attacking each other biting, clawing and stabbing, soaking the ground with blood until all but one lay dead,
The leader frozen with fear, a fear like no other, it attached to his very soul. His mind can’t take the horror and snaps. He sees his very own skin as a threat and begins to rip skin from muscle and muscle from bone. The screams from this horror echo through the trees to this very day.
Now over a hundred years later the locals fear and the legend has faded, but the Shadowmaster's power still remains. Some have seen a tall dark figure on the banks of the Bogue Falaya River, then swept with fear as the figure transformed into a large black cat. Some go into the woods and are never seen or heard from again. Now judge for yourself, is the legend true. But beware, it is said the Shadowmaster can see into your very soul, if your heart is true you may get out with it still in your chest. If not, you will remain on these sacred grounds, The Shadowlands, forever as so many have before you.
